Bittersweet Goodbye

Although we are very excited about moving into our new home, we will definitely miss our last house. After living there for over 12 years, we have so many fun memories of spending time with both family and friends there. Not only do we have so many great memories in that house, there are also many features about the house that we really enjoyed and will miss.

Antique Doors
We used these doors for our combination laundry room/pantry. We purchased them from a store in Downtown McKinney.

Stone Fireplace
We loved having the arched fireplace with wainscoting in our living room.

Custom Painting
Above the doors to our study, we had an artist paint a scene with an old church. We originally had plain glass put in so we could have custom painting done. We had the same artist paint Matthew 18:20 above our dining room arch near the entry of our home.

Stone Columns
The stone columns in our dining room originally going to be wood, but after seeing columns similar to these on a trip we took to St. Lucia, we decided to make them out of stone.

Claw-foot Tubs
We had a claw-foot tub both in the master bathroom as well as the upstairs bathroom. This is one of the ways we worked to make the house feel older.

These are just a few of the things we will miss from our home - there are also many chandeliers that we unfortunately aren't able to bring with us.

As we finished packing, I loved walking through our house, remembering all of the details we added to make it special. We will miss it but are very thankful for all the wonderful memories we have there!
