Lightening Things Up

Things continue to be busy in the Frye house! We have plenty of updates - from paint to new lighting and even a big TV update!

As you may remember from yesterday, the painters were coming to turn our cabinets from a dark wood to the Benjamin Moore Silver Lake. They finished staining and priming, and the painting should be complete by the end of today.

We also received our long-awaited tile in the mail yesterday which we can't wait to have installed behind the stove. I already love it but can't wait to see it with the grout!

We haven't started hanging many things on the walls yet but did add both our family portrait and a mirror to the master bathroom yesterday. We are loving the blue color the previous owners used in this bathroom.

A few important additions we made yesterday involve lighting. Several of the lighting fixtures that we purchased for this house came from Aidan Gray and purchased at Gray Living, one of my favorite decorating stores in Downtown McKinney. One of the lights is now hanging in our entry (pictured on left), while the other is now in our dining room (pictured on right).

We also installed a new chandelier in our master bathroom which is from Pottery Barn (pictured on left) and converted a sconce we already owned into a mounted wall sconce which is in the hallway between the guest bedroom and guest bathroom (pictured on right).

Then, we moved the ceiling fan from the dining room (which the previous owners used as the living room) into our current living room.

Finally, one of Rodney's dreams finally came true today - we got Longhorn Network! He has been looking forward to this day for a very long time. He was so excited about it that I went a meeting at the church and he forgot to record The Bachelor for me!

And that's what happened in the Frye house yesterday. On today's schedule: installing the security system, Terminex, insulation quotes, painting, more unpacking, and starting to hang everything on the walls.
